Going "Stagg"

...Charles Stagg that is.  This is my newest addition to my growing collection of art by local artists.  Charlie is NOT a folk artist, although easily confused as such, he studied at the same art school as Dale Chihuly.

If you're from Texas and love art, alternative architecture and or nature you're really missing out if you've not met Charlie and been to his home. It's truly a life experience! Living inside a sculpture, life doesn't get more surreal than this.

This piece is about 7 inches tall and 10 inches wide, orange red with black streaks. These wood carved bits come together in a shape similar to a DNA model.

Most of Charlies work, is based on small repeating building blocks of material, be it glass bottles, aluminum cans, sticks, or string. They slowly come together to create an impressive structure that seems not only logical but also organic.
