Damselfly Male Ebony Jewelwing
I just returned to Texas from a week in Arkansas with my family there. Here's a portrait of a beautiful insect that crossed my path. I was astounded by it's neon blue green body and it's black velvet wings. When it flies they flutter in a slow movement more like a butterfly than a dragonfly.
I have been showing alot of people because of the impression it made on me... and after showing one co-worker he told me cool story about his girlfriend and a butterfly. She had just been chopping up some home grown peppers for a meal when a blue butterfly flew out of the pepper. She had just freed him.
Today seems a very cheerful day, somewhat cooler than it has been, I'm grateful for all my blessings. My friends and family are really my rock.
